EV Policy - Assam
Introduction
Assam aim to embrace and accelerate the pace of adoption of electric mobility as a tool to promote clean transportation to ensure environmental sustainability and to create an ecosystem for manufacturing EV components in Assam. It aims to achieve that by:
1. Promotion of technology of EVs.
2. Promotion of creation of dedicated infrastructure of charging EVs.
3. Promotion of innovation and R&D.
The policy is aiming at 25000 units of 4 wheelers in the state within next 5 years
Demand Incentives
- ROAD TAX :
1. 100% waiver on road tax for 5 years.
2. 100% waiever on parking charges for next 5 years. - VEHICLE REGISTRATION : No registration charges for 5 years.
- DEMAND GENERATION SUBSIDY (4W) :
1. Total state subsidy: 1.5 L
2. Max exfactory price to avail incentive: 15 L
Charging station subsidy
1. 25 % capital subsidy on equipment/machinery subject to maximum limit of Rs. 10 lakhs per station. 2. DISCOMs (Distribution Company) shall allow charging of EVs from the existing connection of a Consumer at the existing tariff. 3. The tariff for new third-party owned EV charging infrastructure shall be as per the AERC (Assam Electricity Regulatory Comission) tariff order for utilities.
Manufacturing subsidy and Tariff
1. Additional 10% of cost of Plant & Machinery up to Rs. 10 Cr to the 30% Capital Investment Subsidy available under NEIDS(North east industrial development scheme),2017 for Large Units. 2. Additional interest subsidy 2% on working capital loan on existing interest subsidy of 3% on working capital loan.
Other subsidy, if any
1. 100% waiver on parking charges for 5 years
2. 90% waiver on electric duty of EV charging station
