EV Policy - Bihar
Introduction
Bihar is aiming to become preferred destination for EV investmenet by creating manufacutring eco system for e-vehicles and fulfilling sustainable goal of transport system.
Demand Incentives
- ROAD TAX : Exmpetion from road tax.
- VEHICLE REGISTRATION : Exemption from registration.
- DEMAND GENERATION SUBSIDY (4W) : First 4000 4 wheelers manufactured or registered in the policy period of 5 years is elligible for 15% subsidy on base price capped at Rs. 1,00,000/-.
Charging station subsidy
1. Commercial public EV charging stations will be eligible for 25% capital subsidy on equipment/machinery (limited up to Rs. 10 lacs per station) for first 250 commercial public EV charging stations.
2. Across the state, the rate of Electrical power required for EV charging shall be industrial rate of electricity.
Manufacturing subsidy and Tariff
Eligiblity as per Chapter 6 of Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy, 2016.
Electricity Tariff
The State Government shall allow power under the Open Access Policy as per the Electricity Act, 2003. This shall allow large users of power — typically having connected load of 1 megawatt (MW) and above —to buy cheaper power from the open market.
Skill development
One EV manufacturing cluster shall be created including common facilities and R&D Centre and vehicle testing track
